Natural Homemade Skin Toner

Apple Cider Vinegar is beneficial to tone the skin and fight tough acne. It can be diluted with another natural, safe materials to firm the skin's delicate layers, clean up debris, and calm undesirable spots. Recipes for a toner can be inexpensive, last for a long time, and be comprised of materials found in the kitchen.

Since this toner is homemade, both the materials and amounts suggested can be adjusted to fit particular needs. Whether the goal is to fight acne or calm irritated skin, blend selected materials to create a personalized tonic that tackles either goal — or both.

Basic Materials for A Skin Toner

Apple Cider Vinegar Toner Recipe

Depending on the strength desired, the ACV should be diluted as such:

  • Weak: 1 part ACV to 4 parts Hydrosol/additional materials
  • Moderate: 1 part ACV to 2 parts Hydrosol/additional materials
  • Strong: 1 part ACV to 1 part Hydrosol/additional materials

*Essential oils do not mix with water; oils added to a weak mixture may not blend well with other ingredients. Below is the recommended amount:


Mix or shake well, apply the blend to a cotton ball or pad, and gently pat over the skin. Allow drying time before applying a moisturizer.
