I'm transitioning from using salon or regular haircare products (with sulfates, dimethicone, or other things that coat your hair) and I thought it might help distribute oil from my scalp along my nearly 2' long strands. I couldn't honestly say if it does or not, but it feels FABULOUS. I literally sit down at night and just brush my hair because it feels good. I just bought a smaller size to go in my school bag because the plastic brush I usually use when out and about feels like trying to brush my hair with broken chain link fencing in comparison. I have very, very, thick hair - I have to bind a ponytail up with leather thongs and a bunch of pins just to keep it from slumping halfway down my head in five minutes. I was a little worried this brush wouldn't be able to handle it but so far I've had no issues with pins falling out or breaking. It's definitely helped me transition, and it even handled the dry, tangled phase when my hair was going through dimethicone withdrawal without becoming damaged. Now that my hair is fully transitioned I use the brush to distribute coconut oil after washing and it definitely does a great job of that, so presumably it is also distributing my scalp oils between washings. Also - my hair hasn't been this awesome, or this light, since I was a kid. For any natural blondes out there who refuse to dye or bleach - your hair may be several shades lighter if you stop using products that coat it and apply sunscreen to your hair. I live in the desert southwest and I now have a natural "ombre" and the healthiest hair I've had as an adult - and no hair sunscreen!
